11 Tools to Release your Hurting Heart

If you are anything like me, you will remember times in your life when you truly felt happy.

Childhood days of playing in the fields or beaches. Laughing with pure pleasure as ants climb a wall in a long line, kicking a goal, getting your first kiss. There can be many moments when our heart opens to love.

But equally, you may be able to identify moments which have closed your heart.

I remember as a 3 or 4 year old, believing I could fly as Tiny Zoe. I also, more vaguely, remember telling my Dad about it. My perception of his lack of belief and what I made that mean would suddenly stop me being able to shrink myself down and fly around my bedroom.

There are many incidents in all our lives that will shut you down and gradually close your heart. Our inner critic starts to dictate how we should respond to situations in life until one day you wake up and find life has lost its joy. Life is rolling along as if in a “Train of Disbelief”.

But if we practice pushing through our resistance, rather than push it away, we will begin to build our muscle of compassion toward ourselves. This is where the light comes from; the gem that shines through our moments of darkness or limiting beliefs.

My 11 tools to release your hurting heart include:

1.    Breathe, Breathe and Breathe - this hurt shall pass.

2.    Place a pink or green crystal near your skin and give it a rub when you feel the hurt.

3.    Look in the mirror, into your eyes and say, “I open up to allow love in”. Do this 7 x in repetition

4.    Dab Geranium oil on your heart, allowing your sense of smell to ignite memories.

5.    Face your inner critic and give thanks for the lessons you are being shown.

6.    Laugh and then laugh some more.

7.    Rub essential oil on the inside of your wrists – there are many emotional release points here.

8.    Practice automatic writing every morning – one page. Just write. Read it all at the end of the week.

9.    Be the witness of your childhood beliefs and self-talk without attachment.

10. Sit with the emotions as they arise without trying to fix, stop or justify them. Hold compassion for yourself and courageously observe your feelings.

11. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small you think they are. Your heart only sees your magnificence and brilliance and if you allow it to shine, it can grow.

In my toolkit of skills, equipment, knowledge, and open-heartedness I support young and old to allow their disbelief, pain, and stress to rise to the surface. Activating and triggering your pattern of childhood responses that you thought would keep you safe.

But more often than not, as we become adults, those childhood beliefs no longer serve us and we need a new way of being.

It is then, when your heart is ready, that we begin to shift your perception and allow new pathways to be created into who you are. This opens the opportunity for a new way of being, responding and creating.

This is the Gem that will begin to open your heart.
